I have been practicing law since 1978. Before beginning my law career, I served in the US Army and then earned my bachelor of science degree from California State University, Los Angeles. After graduating, I worked as a comptroller for a medium-sized corporation and for three years for the California State Banking Department where I was responsible for examining all facets of banking operations.
For my juris doctor degree, I attended Western State College of Law. After being admitted to the bar, I returned to banking and acted as general counsel to a bank in Orange County before going into private practice in 1982. I am admitted to practice in all California state courts as well as all divisions in California of the US District Court.
During my more than 40 years of litigation experience in state and federal civil matters and bankruptcy creditor and fraud matters, I have authored and argued cases in the State Appellate Courts, California Supreme Court, and Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. While I have experience with fraud, embezzlement, collections, and defense of lending liability cases, I specialize in the following practice areas:
- Business Law
- Civil litigation
- Real Property
- Estate Planning
- Special Needs Trusts
- Trust Administration
As an active member of my local Kiwanis Club, I have had the opportunities to serve as a Director of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Anaheim and as a Director of the Club’s Scholarship Foundation. I am also a member of several professional associations, including the California State Bar and the Orange County Bar Associations.
I am currently on the Board of Directors for the Anaheim Family YMCA and have the opportunity to serve on its Executive Committee and as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and I’ve also served on the Boards of Directors for both the City of Anaheim Library Board and the Anaheim Community Foundation.
